This study was to determine the power that the media has in terms of what we are imposed, looking at the connection between youth culture, violence, ethnicity and the stereotypes the media show us daily. To what extent are the ideologies the media portray to young people changing and how are these ideologies perceived by the masses. The direct advancements we have had revolving around technology means that almost any ideology can come across whether good or bad. The result of today’s new media devices has been one of the main causes in the behaviour of young people, the ability to create their own persona in reality as well as living an alter ego online. The new media technologies have influenced youth culture by glorifying cultural practices that would normally have been tabooed through the eyes of the media, thus creating a new breed of super predators.
