A Desire. A Need. An Obsession
We live in a society where we rarely go a day, even an hour without being connected through technology in some way. Using smartphones, tablets or laptops to communicate with each other through social media sites, emails or messaging, as we go about our daily routines has become part of the norm. My experimental short film titled A Desire, A Need, An Obsession comments on and criticises the increasing use of technology, and the impact it is having on the quality of our lives. It compares the compulsions we feel to check our social media, emails and other forms of technology to be connected, to those a drug addict would feel using the urge to use. It aims to raise awareness about this concept, so that people can make a conscious decision about how much they allow technology to become an integrated part of their lives.
